“I work for Tulsa County taxpayers — and I take that seriously.”

– John Fothergill

Meet John Fothergill

John Fothergill is a lifelong Oklahoman, conservative Republican, and the current Tulsa County Treasurer, trusted with managing over $1 billion in taxpayer funds each year.

John believes government should be honest, efficient, and accountable to the people who pay for it. He doesn’t set tax rates — he protects your money, ensures accurate collection, and safeguards county finances with transparency and care.

Before becoming Treasurer, John spent nearly two decades working in local government, learning how county and city systems actually work — and how to fix what doesn’t. As Treasurer, he has modernized outdated systems, improved customer access, strengthened security, and delivered better service without growing government.

John and his wife, Tabitha, are raising their two sons in Tulsa County. He is active in community service through Rotary, Scouting, and local organizations — and believes public office is about responsibility, not politics.
